Yesterday, something hit me like a ton of bricks (it may be a cliche, but its true). I’m not really sad, depressed or anxious right now. However, if I gave my life a 1-10 rating on how much enjoyment I am having in it, it may be about a 3 or 4. That’s pretty low. I think that is way too low. Continue reading “Enjoy Life”
God loves me in spite of my sin. I am a failure, but God loves me anyway.
This statement reflects what I believe most of the time. God loves me despite my selfish heart. He loves me even though my actions clearly show that I don’t love Him, sometimes. Even though I wander, God loves me.
The statement that is a little harder to swallow is:
God loves me.
God loves me for who I am.
I really like ice cream and Dr. Pepper. They both excite my taste buds. There is also a comforting feeling I get when drinking a Dr. Pepper or eating an ice cream cone. I’m not quite sure the source of the feeling beyond brain chemicals and taste buds shouting, “Yum! Gimme’ more!”

I refilled my water through a filtration system a friend brought along, and I was off. I made it this far, might as well keep going right?
What does it mean to have a “relationship with God?” It is something that I write about a lot. However, it might seem strange. You may think, “That’s kind of weird…how can a person have a relationship with something that he can’t see?” Beyond those who don’t believe in God at all, there are several people who think that a relationship with God is just kind of a weird idea. I know, because I used to be one of them. There was a time in my life when I believed in the existence of God, but the idea of a relationship with Him was for the crazy fundamentalists. Sometimes Christmas is not the happiest time of the year. Though we see commercials of families gathering and tearing the wrapping paper off of presents under elaborately decorated trees and enjoying hot, warm meals together, for some people that isn’t reality. It could be that the reality of Christmas is seen through a different lens. Continue reading “Christmas Is For the Broken”
When I achieve something, like when I feel like I’ve written a good post and find that it resonates with people, something happens inside my heart.
