Perfectionism

I have a friend and mentor who recently shared that “Perfection is the enemy of direction.” We have a tendency to want to go big or go home. We see it in  inspirational movies and read it in go getter stories. Give it your all, all the time.

This is true to a point. Be faithful with what you can do. However, being faithful is different than being perfect. No one is perfect, and so if we honestly waited until things were perfect before doing anything, then nothing would get done.

The little steps and little things matter in life. Whether it be having coffee with a friend, writing a blog post, our starting a organization – you have to start somewhere.

We have a great God who has great plans for us. Let’s dream big, but not be overwhelmed. Big dreams are fulfilled through faithful steps in the moment.
